To make our time more efficient, prior to our first meeting, I will assign you “homework”. This will allow you to visualize and put your style down on paper. The goal is to think about the colors, styles and organization level you like.
During our first meeting, we will discuss the following your lifestyle, color preferences, fabric preferences, finishes and floor plan. We will also define the scope of the project including budget and timing. Lastly, we will discuss the extent of involvement that you wish from me during the scope of your design project.
You may decide to work in any one or combination of the following:
1.Self service --After reviewing your home, I e-mail you a “TO DO” list (with ideas of where to shop and choices to make) so you can do your own shopping and find the items you need.
2.Personal Shopper -- I go out and find items for your project and bring them to your home (i.e. linens, art, floor coverings, etc) and you can decide if you like the items or want them returned.
3.Combination: We come up with a To Do list and then spend a day shopping for the items. Typically this is done with furniture, rugs, accessories, and bathroom and kitchen remodels.
Creating Beautiful Environments For Any Budget
Interior Design is art as well as science -- envisioning, planning, and incorporating all aspect of the home décor. It is the combination of industry knowledge as well as aesthetic vision.
It is important to make the house become a reflection of one’s self – that is, “A Home”. A large part of Interior design is creating a cohesive environment that is pleasing to all the senses of the individuals living in the house. To do this, an interior designer is often required to be part therapist, part mediator and above all, a good listener.
Many of us notice our surroundings only through feeling a certain way, yet it is hard to define what makes us feel comfortable or edgy. Only through observation and analysis do we come to realize what makes us feel ,
“AT HOME”.
